Japanese Tsunami hits Antarctica
Gentoo penguins at the Chilean station on Paradise Bay, Antarctica, watcing an iceberg drifting by. The tsunami that hit Japan in August extended as far as Antarctica causing several massive icebergs totalling 48 square miles to break off. Not quite as big as Rhode Island (the universal measure of area for all natural disasters), but it's pretty amazing that the tsunami reached as far as Antarctica.
